Andrea Kramešová
Andrea graduate of the Dance Conservatory in Prague, she frequented summer schools of dance in Cologne, Germany, and in Pertuis, France, while still a conservatory student. In 2000 she won First Prize in the ballet competition in Brno, Czech Republic, along with the Best Artistic Creation Award.
After completing her studies, she spent four years as a member of the Prague National Theatre ballet company (1999-2003), a stage in her career which was followed by two years of engagement with Tulsa Ballet in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Subsequently, she was soloist of the ballet company of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, Germany, dancing mostly in Yuri Vàmos’ choreographies, including notably the parts of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet; Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Bride and Groom in Giselle; Clara in The Nutcracker; and the title part in The Jewess of Toledo.
Since the 2009/10 season, she has been a member of the Swedish Royal Ballet in Stockholm, where she was cast, soon after joining the company, in the part of Swanilde in a production of Coppélia choreographed by the company’s artistic director, Marc Ribaud. She previously guest appeared at the Prague State Opera as Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, as Anastasia in The Sleeping Beauty – the Czar’s Last Daughter.
In 2012 Andrea returned to Czech National ballet where she became principal dancer. Her repertoire includes main roles in Swan lake, Sleeping beauty, Giselle, Nutcracker, Snow queen. Apart from these roles, her repertoire includes also solo parts in various choreographies of Nacho Duato, Jiří Kylián, George Balanchine, Uwe Scholz, Jacopo Godani,
Petr Zuska or Mats Ek.
Since 2014 Andrea is regularly teaching company classes in Czech National ballet as well as in other companies in Czech Republic, having private students or travels abroad to give master classes.
In 2020 Andrea finished her studies at Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where she achieved bachelor diploma in Dance science.
Andrea is living in Stockholm and is full time ballet teacher at Royal Swedish Ballet school. She is also regular guest coach at Royal Swedish Ballet and Czech National Ballet where she gives ballet classes to the company. Andrea is also passing on her knowledge to the students in various institutions: Stockholm University of Art, Balettakademien etc.
